Crafting Workshop: A Witches Cloak

Capped at 3 Participants

10 weeks, 2-3 hours per session

$250 (waged) and $150 (Concession)

Suitable for beginner and experienced sewers the course is usually held between February and May. It's a fun activity where participants will make a traditional Kinsale Cloak, or other cloak of their choosing, over 10 sessions.  Participants will be guided through the process by an experienced cloak maker.

Cloaks will be complete in time for the Winter Solstice.  Included is all tuition, support and access to a traditional Kinsale cloak pattern. The first session involves a field trip to a fabric shop to purchase materials.  The nine remaining sessions include a delicious light vegan meal each evening.

Participants will supply their own materials and equipment (including a sewing machine), however some recycled fabric and thread may be available at low or no cost for those on very low incomes. Should you wish to access any free/low cost recycled  materials please mention this when you make contact. Donations of materials for low income participants are also welcome.

Last year I had the good fortune to come across Cara and her cloak making workshop. Not only did this class offer friendships, life long connections, and beautiful cloak, it also offered me a wonderful bonding experience with my teenager. Together we let our inner selves come out choosing the fabric and adornments that would soon become our gorgeous cloaks. Crafted in a peaceful intimate setting, cloaks and memories for a lifetime. All off this comes out in the final product, which receives smiles and compliments whenever she comes out with me; yes, she! She has a personality and presence all of her own. I will be forever grateful for your shared knowledge and connection Cara. Thank you

What a great opportunity this is to connect with like minded Pagans, coming together to create a truly magical outfit. I am so happy to see this course is running again! I learnt a lot on sewing under the guidance of Caroline Cara Denigan. I love my cloak, but probably even more due to the circumstances it was created in. This is a highly recommended course for any seeing ability
