![]() Thank you for visiting theia.co, the website of the House of Theia. You're invited to visit again to follow our progress delivering personal development services with a difference. And what is that difference? While conducting her doctoral research the founder of the House of Theia, Dr Cara Denigan, noted patterns in the life experiences of some females. Many of their stories included having to overcome expectations that they were in some way inately lesser beings, unable to express themselves or just were physically weak. Patterns of employment in Australia support this observation, for example in construction, females are supposed to be too weak to build. There also seemed to be a connection between female embodiment and having survived traumatic violence. It seemed as if in the mind of violent individuals there was a correlation between weakness and the female body that lead to females experiencing higher rates of assault. Such is the strength of these ideas in Australian culture that females sometimes unconsciously internalize them. A desire to counter those ideas lead Cara to develop a range of personal development services. The services are designed provide a safe space to realign female embodiment with reality:
